Through to Semifinals at U23 Worlds

DSC_0967 Qualifications for K1 Men were Wednesday here in Liptovsky-Mikulas. With a solid first run I was sitting comfortably in 18th position and was able to push a bit harder on the second run knowing I would be in the top-40 cutoff for the semifinal. The second run was on pace to be a bit quicker but I took a touch and a time-loss as an impromptu, and very fast, punt off the concrete siding in one upstream put me above the gate in the next upstream causing me to take a few seconds to circle around for the gate. The video is available online at http://events.slalom.canoeicf.com/live-results-page Video from the Qualifier can be seen by clicking on Wednesday and then K1 Men U23 Ht 1.Run 0r 2.Run The Semifinal will be streamed  live at the same link and can be seen by clicking on Stream 1 or 2. Competitors alternate between streams so I could be on either one. My run will be at 3:01am EST so tune in when your home from a night out. Canadian teammates Ally Mcgee (C1W U23) and Cameron Smedley (C1M U23) have also qualified for Friday’s semifinal and hopefully our Junior C1 Men and K1 Women will be able to snag a spot this afternoon.
